The Girl Who Liked the Rain

 

There is a hard rain on Reeperbahn

And all the umbrellas ain’t got a chance

All the tourists, whores and pimps are rushing for shelter

But this girl – well, she likes the rain

Listening to music she keeps on walking

With a smile on her face

To wherever she may go

(Standing in the rain and watching the girl come by, an old song by Tom Waits came to my mind, „Small Change“ from 1976. The music in this tune is done just by a tenor saxophone in a jazz way and Tom speaks the lyrics in the style he has become famous for. So, I got inspired by the music and these lyrics when I wrote the lines above)
